You're somewhere past forty
We built this for people between forty and sixty, so you won't be the oldest one here.
The 30-Day Programme · Chipping Norton
We run small group personal training in Chipping Norton for people in their forties, fifties and sixties. You'll never train in a group bigger than six, and one of us is with you for the whole hour.
The 30-Day Programme: we start you with a 1-to-1, then twelve coached sessions. Most people feel it by week four.
One of us will give you a call. Five minutes, no script, no pressure.

Everything we'd tell you on the phone, in one place.
Inside a month, most of our members tell us the stairs are easier and they're sleeping better. We'll give you the price on the call, because it depends which days work for you.
01 Who this is for
Some had never really trained at all. One of our members hadn't set foot in a gym for twenty-five years, and another had spent her whole adult life frightened of them. Both are still here.
We built this for people between forty and sixty, so you won't be the oldest one here.
A knee, a back, a shoulder, arthritis, a hip. We'll go through all of it with you before you lift anything, and build your programme around it.
Plenty of our members had joined a gym before and drifted off. Having us expecting you on a Tuesday is what makes the difference.
02 In Jack's own words
Jack explains the place better than we can write it down.
Jack Anderson, founder
“We're not a gym on features. We haven't got a pool, we haven't got a sauna. All we do have is people that care.”
Jack · founder
We only take six people per session, so places do go. Tell us when you could train and we'll find you a spot.
03 The 30-Day Programme
Here's how it goes, from your first call through to day thirty. We'll have spoken to you and taken you through a one-to-one before you ever walk into a group.
We'll ask what made you get in touch, what you've tried before, anything physical we should know about, and which days could work for you. Then we'll tell you what we've got free and exactly what it costs.
Just you and one of us, before you ever train in a group. We'll talk through what you want, what you've done before and anything that hurts, write your programme there and then, and get you set up to book your own sessions.
Your name and your weights go up on the board before you get here, so you can walk straight in. Your coach takes you through the hour, and everyone else in there was new once too.
You book them yourself, into whatever slots suit your week. If a week goes sideways, move the session rather than lose it. We'd much rather see you on Thursday than not at all.
By now most people tell us they're sleeping better and the stairs have stopped being a thing. We'll sit down with you, talk about what's changed, and work out where you'd like to take it from here.
04 Members
A few of our members were kind enough to tell us what it's been like. Several of them mention how long they put off getting in touch.
05 Inside a session
We put a microphone on the coach so you can hear how it goes.
“Nothing bad can happen here, okay?”
We'll start you with a one-to-one, so by the time you join a group you already know your coach and what you're doing.
06 The room
We're on Elmsfield Industrial Estate in Chipping Norton. Here's what a session with us looks like.
Want to see it for yourself? Tell us what you're after and we will talk you through how it'd work for you.

We love what we do, and we'd love to meet you. Here's a little about us first.

Founder & Coach
“I moved here from Bristol in 2021 and started out coaching one to one at the side of my house. I wanted to build something people could keep as a proper part of their life. The best bit of the job is watching somebody's confidence grow inside an hour.”

Founder & Coach
“I did gymnastics growing up, then sport science at uni. My goal as a coach is to help everyone love exercise. I know the members call me the stricter one with eyes everywhere, but I'll always start you where you're comfortable and build up slowly.”

Coach
Em gets named in our reviews about as often as either founder. As one member puts it: “Emily's always there to add a little extra weight on because she remembers what I did last time. I can't fake it.”

Coach
“I spent a lot of my life playing sport at a high standard, and eight years living in Hong Kong. What I love here is the happiness side of it. People come in a bit gloomy and they've always got a smile on by the end.”

Well, I've spent my entire adult life absolutely terrified of gyms and now I actually look forward to going. The atmosphere the team have created is very special.

Like the gym version of Cheers, where everybody knows your name. You will leave here wanting to come back, every time. Simply the best atmosphere I have ever experienced in a gym.

Jack, Drew and Emily have totally changed my outlook on how to look after myself after the menopause. As a low handicap golfer I have found those niggly injuries are gone and I feel so much fitter and stronger.

Best decision I've made for building a consistent and successful exercise routine. Something I just wasn't able to achieve with a regular gym membership.

Having not been to a gym for over 25 years, I was uncertain if this would be something I would enjoy, but it's fair to say making the decision to join Cotswold Training Club has been the best decision ever.

They have helped me to turn my life around as far as my exercise and fitness is concerned, especially as I was mid menopause when I joined. The groups are small enough so they're not overwhelming.

09 The worry
When they tell us what had put them off before, it's hardly ever the weights. It's being watched, or not knowing where to stand.
We built the place around exactly that, and most people tell us it stops mattering after two or three sessions. One of them put it better than we could:
“You're not by yourself, but you're not in a huge large gym where there's lots of people.”
We know starting something new comes with a lot of questions. Ask us anything at all, we're happy to talk it through.
